A versatile filmmaker based in London, Itunu describes herself as wearing 'many hats' in the industry. She works as a TV producer and video editor, specializing in both factual and entertaining content. In addition to her television work, she pursues her passion for independent filmmaking, having produced films such as 'Butterflies' (2018), '71 Questions' (2019), and 'All Case Scenarios' (2021). Itunu is currently making her directorial debut with the short film 'Give Me Your Phone'.
Itunu has been a filmmaker for many years, taking on roles in production and post-production alike. This project is Itunu's first on-screen directorial endeavour, having produced, edited and featured in other works. "Give Me Your Phone" follows two Black men from different socio-economic backgrounds as they navigate the dynamics of crime and compassion. The film delves into privilege and its complexities through the main characters' interactions. This film is part of Itunu's mission to create Black stories that celebrate and uplift Black and ethnically marginalised characters, focusing on narratives beyond trauma and suffering.
"Give Me Your Phone" is currently making its rounds in film festivals. If you can't attend a screening or prefer to watch it from the comfort of your home, you can email me and donate any amount. In return, you will receive a private link to watch the film. Your support will also help fund the next project.
Write down a little bit about your project. I will get back to you as soon as possible with some ideas of how we can make your story shine.
